Update from the Chair of the Presidential Search Committee

The following message was also distributed to students, staff, and faculty by email on February 16, 2024.

Dear Members of the Campus Community,

I am excited to share that the Presidential Search Committee (PSC) has reached the next stage in the search process: we have a short list of three exceptional candidates for UPEI鈥檚 next president and vice-chancellor. We will be inviting each candidate for an in-person interview as well as an opportunity to tour and experience our campus. The dates of the candidate visits are March 8, 11, and 18.

Research Breakfast featuring Drs. Jay Penney and Aitazaz Farooque

The 69传媒Office of Commercialization, Industry, and Innovation is hosting a Research Breakfast featuring Dr. Jay Penney, associate professor of biomedical sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, who will present 鈥淢icroglia: The brain's immune cells that impact neurodegeneration,鈥 and Dr. Aitazaz Farooque, Industry Research Chair in Precision Agriculture and associate dean, 69传媒School of Climate Change and Adaptation, who will present 鈥淒evelopment of Climate Smart Agriculture Technologies to Ensure Food Security and Sustainability.鈥

Novelist Christine Higdon at Gallery Coffee Shop & Bistro March 5

Christine Higdon, writer, editor, graphic designer, rug hooker, and intersectional feminist, will talk about her artistic practice and read from her new novel, Gin, Turpentine, Pennyroyal, Rue, at The Gallery Coffee Shop on Great George Street, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, March 5, at 7:00 pm. The evening is sponsored by the 69传媒Faculty of Arts and The Bookmark. Admission is free.

Registration deadline for 2024 Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camp

Today is the deadline to register for the Atlantic Veterinary College's  award-winning Dr. Tim Ogilvie AVC Vet Camps, taking place July 8-August 2. This program offers a behind-the-scenes peek into the world of veterinary medicine鈥攆rom doing physical examinations on dogs and horses to learning how to dress like a surgeon and suturing on a silicon suture pad. You will be amazed at what you will see, learn, and do! Registration is required to attend this camp.
