This is a beginner to intermediate level session. Learn the best practices at Compute Canada for minimizing your risk for cyber attacks. Topics will include SSH security, firewalls, using logs and creating backups; all applied to running and maintaining cloud projects at Compute Canada.

Hi ! we are members of the Presents for Pediatrics ratified club at the 69传媒. 

We are reaching out to you in hope that you can help make holidays warmer for those who have to spend their Christmas on the Pediatric Unit.

We received donations from great local businesses, and we are hosting an online auction on Facebook where people can bid on the items donated. The money raised will go towards purchasing gifts for children who have to spend Christmas time in the Pediatric Unit at QEH and IWK hospital.

The first-ever National Research and Education Network Summit will be held online via Zoom on December 7, 8, and 9, 2020 from 1 pm to 4 pm (EST) each day.

The theme of the Summit is 鈥淪trengthening Connections In Times of Change.鈥 Canada鈥檚 research, education, and innovation communities have had quite a year! From moving rapidly to remote education delivery at the outset of the pandemic to focusing on COVID-19 research, and to ensure the security of information across the ecosystem, there is lots to talk about, lots to learn, and lots to celebrate!

The Atlantic Canada Study and Stay - Prince Edward Island Program is seeking Volunteer Mentors. 

Across the Island, there are 55 selected international students this year who would benefit from developing professional relationships with a volunteer mentor.

Mentors help our international students better understand workplace culture, improve their soft skills, and develop more connections on PEI. As a mentor, you'll be meeting with your assigned student 4鈥6 times between January 2021 and July/August 2021. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all meetings will be conducted online.

It鈥檚 a good and rewarding feeling to support someone in our community and make a difference in someone's life. If you enjoy spending time with international students while helping create a more supportive community, we would like to invite you to sign up as a mentor here:

The CBRC and Egale Canada have partnered on researching Access to Justice Study for 2SLGBTQIA+ People in Canada. Egale is currently focused on the experience of sexual minorities (e.g. lesbian women, bisexual people, gay men) in Atlantic Canada. It is their hope that you will share this study with your networks, or those who may be interested in participating in this type of study. 

Egale is in the final phase of recruitment, which is ending December 15, 2020.

, available in both English and French, seeks to gather information about the legal experiences of lesbian, gay, and bisexual people in Eastern Canada. The data gathered will help inform and change legal policies, practices, and services for LGBTQI2S people in Canada.

To be eligible, participants must:

  • Identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or another sexual orientation minority
  • Be at least 16 years old

  • Reside in Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, or New Brunswick

If you need any accommodations for your online or in-person final exams, please read all of the following information:

  • You must book under the "Final Exams" section
  • DO NOT input your final exams in the midterm/test section (If you have please rebook them in the finals tab)
  • For help booking your final exams, refer to the attached 鈥淔all 2020 鈥 How to Book Final Exams in AccessDeck鈥

For In-Person Exams

  • Check your AccessDeck Login page for information regarding exam start time and exam location.
  • You must have a piece of photo ID with you for each of your final exams.
  • Wear a mask for your exams.
  • 69传媒is a scent-free location. If you arrive wearing a scent, we may ask that you remove or wash the scent away to not trigger a reaction from those with sensitivities. 
  • Bring your own earbuds or headphones (if you require these) that are compatible with Dell Computers; we have a limited number available for borrowing. This can not be a set that is Bluetooth/Wi-Fi compatible.
  • Final Exams from 7:00-10:00 pm will begin one or two hours earlier to ensure time and a half or double time is received.

All final exam requests MUST be submitted by Monday, November 30th to secure accommodations. Requests that come in after this date may not receive accommodation.
