UPEI's Executive MBA program offers a high-quality learning experience for working business professionals. Classes are offered bi-weekly on Fridays and Saturdays with the option to complete the program in 20 months.

This is a reminder that the 69´«Ã½Biosafety Policy requires that all Principal Investigators confirm the security and complete inventory of all biohazardous materials being used or stored, due in November of each year. This is accomplished by updating your entries if required, then confirming the accuracy of your inventory as follows:

1. Access your inventory at . Please copy and paste into your url.

2. Ensure your inventory is up to date, and then confirm this by following the steps as listed below.

3. Select User Menu (top right of screen) then My account (from the left side of the drop down screen).

4. Click Edit (just below the user name)

5. Click on Information (on the top right section of the screen).

6. Scroll down this page. Below the box with the phone number, you will notice a box next to I accept. If you have not already done so, please read this section and, if you agree, please check this box.

7. To report your inventory is up to date, please enter the date that you confirm this in the 2020 box.

8.  Hit Save! Task completed.

Depending on the work requirements of university departments, the Christmas schedule will be in effect from December 21, 2020 through January 1, 2021, inclusive. Office and regular business hours will resume Monday, January 4, 2021.

Payroll deadlines:

For the December 24 pay, the deadline for PTFs, pay changes, etc are due by noon on November 26. Electronic timesheets/overtime are due December 14.

For the January 8 pay, the deadline for PTFs, pay changes, etc are due by noon on December 10. Electronic timesheets/overtime are due January 4. 

For the January 22 pay, the deadline for PTFs, pay changes, etc are due by noon on December 23. Electronic timesheets/overtime are due on January 11.

The International Student Office and the English Language Centre would like to invite faculty and staff to attend an informal lunch-hour discussion on online learning and the needs of international students. Meet resource staff who are helping us all learn new ways to support our students. We will also be joined by faculty and instructors who will discuss their strategies for success, and what they learned so far during this unprecedented school year. The event will be a moderated discussion followed by an open question and answer time. 

 

The Healthy Campus Committee, as part of the Employee Wellness Strategy, will be providing FREE Yoga Stretch & Meditation Classes for 69´«Ã½Faculty and Staff. Classes will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:10 pm – 12:50 pm. Classes will be on a three week rotation. Employees can only select one day (Tuesday or Thursday) and one month (December or January). This time around it's only a total of 3 classes/month. Yoga Instructors Colleen Gallant (Tuesdays) and Pam Harris-Stewart (Thursdays) will be leading the classes. Pre-registration required. No drop-ins. Tuesdays - December 1, 8 and 15 or  January 12, 19 and 26. Thursdays - December 3, 10 and 17 or January 14, 21 and 28. Space limited.

Ethics protocols that involve ‘more than minimal risk’ must be reviewed by the full 69´«Ã½Research Ethics Board (REB).  The next deadline for submitting these protocols is Friday November 27, 2020.

Other ethics protocol submissions, including new applications that do not involve ‘more than minimal risk’, renewals, and amendments may be submitted at any time. They will be sent for delegated review as soon as all necessary forms are received.

As of June 1, all research compliance applications, including Research Ethics Board application forms must be submitted through the Researcher Portal. The new online process and system is paired with electronic approvals to replace the hard-copy signatures process.

Earlier versions of the application forms will not be accepted.

This comprehensive two-day course offers first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need enhanced training as a work requirement (high risk areas such as labs).

This basic one-day course offers lifesaving first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills. 

Cost of registration will be covered by HSE for all 69´«Ã½faculty and staff, including students who require training for on-campus employment. Students who do not require training for on-campus employment are welcome to attend; however, the cost of registration will not be covered. Please note that lunch will not be provided.

The CBRC and Egale Canada have partnered on researching Access to Justice Study for 2SLGBTQIA+ People in Canada. Egale is currently focused on the experience of sexual minorities (e.g. lesbian women, bisexual people, gay men) in Atlantic Canada. It is their hope that you will share this study with your networks, or those who may be interested in participating in this type of study. 

Egale is in the final phase of recruitment, which is ending December 15, 2020.

, available in both English and French, seeks to gather information about the legal experiences of lesbian, gay, and bisexual people in Eastern Canada. The data gathered will help inform and change legal policies, practices, and services for LGBTQI2S people in Canada.

To be eligible, participants must:

  • Identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or another sexual orientation minority
  • Be at least 16 years old

  • Reside in Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, or New Brunswick
