As we are about to move to a new Moodle in September, our multistage rollout begins! Our first stage is offering two 5-week summer sessions in what's new and better about the new Moodle! These sessions meet face to face once a week and have some online exercises to be completed between sessions. Please take two minutes to fill in the following form regarding when you want to attend:

Security Services has a number of unclaimed items--car keys, prescription glasses, jewellery, etc--that have been lost or found during the past academic year. If you are missing any items, please contact Security Services by email security@upei.ca, by phone 566-0384, or in person at the Central Utility Building (8:30 am-3:00 pm, Monday-Friday).
The Department of Applied Human Sciences will welcome a new chair on June 1. Dr. Jennifer Taylor will take the torch from outgoing chair Dr. Kathy Gottschall-Pass who has served with dedication since June 1, 2007. Please update your lists and phone books. There will be a 69传媒biosafety training session: Tuesday, June 4 1:00 to 4:00 pm The McCain Foundation Learning Commons (Room 286A), AVC Topics to be covered include biosecurity plan training as well as basic biosafety principles and how they are applied at the University of Prince Edward Island. Please note: only those who attended the training sessions in December 2012 or February 2013 are currently considered to be 鈥渦p to date鈥 in their training requirements. If you wish to attend, you must pre-register by contacting Research Services before May 28, 2013. Lisa MacDougall 620-5104 Janet Crowther 628-4308 (afternoons only)

The positions which are open for nomination include: 鈥 President 鈥 Vice-President Internal 鈥 Vice-President External 鈥 Vice-President Finance 鈥 Media Relations 鈥 AVC Representative 鈥 Business Representative 鈥 Science Representative 鈥 Arts Representative 鈥 Education Representative 鈥 Nursing Representative Nominations can be emailed to bdeziel@upei.ca at the chief returning office and should include the candidate鈥檚 name, and the position that they are running for. Nominations are due by May 24 at 4:30 pm. Questions regarding the eligibility of candidate and the duties and responsibilities of positions on the GSA can be directed to Eric McCauley at emccauley@upei.ca. The campaign period for elections will take place beginning at 9 am on May 27, and will close on May 31 at 9 pm. The election will begin on June 3 at 8 am and will close on June 4 at 8 pm.

You're invited to submit stories, announcements, or departmental updates to UPEI's newsletter, the Campus Connector. The submission deadline for the next edition is Monday, May 13 by 5:00 pm. Submissions must follow these guidelines: -be emailed to Sheila Kerry at communications@upei.ca -sent in a Microsoft Word or plain text document -be no longer than 250 words The editors reserve the right to edit content, will not consider incomplete submissions, and cannot guarantee that all submitted materials will be published.
