Procurement Services would like to inform you that inventory tagging will begin next week. The first stage of this process will be furniture tagging and we will be looking for all furniture that has been ordered through purchase order. For all other inventory tagging, each individual will be contacted regarding the whereabouts of the specific item in question. As we are about to move to a new Moodle in September, our multistage rollout begins! Our first stage is offering two 5-week summer sessions in what's new and better about the new Moodle! The Centre for Life-Long Learning is excited to announce our lineup of professional and personal development courses for 2013/2014. The calendar combines new and updated programming with popular, well-tested programs, and courses. Some highlights include: • New Interpersonal and Workplace Conflict Resolution Certificate Designed for managers and employees who want to equip themselves with knowledge and skills to deal with conflict in the workplace and foster a respectful and harmonious workplace. • The former ‘Certificate in Conflict Resolution Studies’ -- now the Practitioners Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution -- has been revised and will be delivered in a cohort format over a 22-month period. • After a successful first offering of the New Manager Series in the fall 2012, we are pleased to be reoffering the program in both Charlottetown and Summerside beginning October 2013. • New for 2013/2014 we will be offering a ‘Certificate in Facilitation’ - Facilitation skills are an integral component of management and leadership. This program addresses facilitation skills applicable in the workplace, to community groups and organizations and all levels of government. More information on this program will be announced in June. • Also included in plans for the coming year are another offering of the Administrative Professional's Development Program , course offerings for the Effective Communication Certificate , various personal development courses and completion of the fifth cohort in our Public Sector Leadership Development Program For more information on any of these programs, visit lifelonglearning.upei.ca or call 902-566-0336. Dear members of the campus community, On behalf of the 69´«Ã½, I would like to inform the campus community that Dr. Juergen Krause, Associate Professor in the School of Business and Director of the Centre for Health and Biotech Management Research, has been appointed interim Dean of Business, effective immediately. Juergen Krause earned his master's degree in chemistry and his PhD degree in biochemistry from the University of Konstanz, Germany and completed postdoctoral studies at the University of Chicago. Before moving into education, he spent 22 years in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical industry, successfully championing and leading global company initiatives, a number of industry/university collaborations, and alliances with other industry partners. Dr. Krause joined the faculty of the 69´«Ã½School of Business in July 2008 as an associate professor, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, and conducting research in the field of health and biotech management. The development of a search process for a new dean will be underway shortly. Dr. Christian Lacroix Interim Vice-President Academic

We delayed the start of some of our Panther Fitness programs to allow you some time to sign up and get ready for summer on the beach. Really, warm weather will arrive sometime soon... Programs you can register for that are starting next week include: kettlebells (Wednesdays Noon–12:45 pm), strength n' cardio circuit (Wednesdays 6:30–7:15 am and Thursdays 5:00–5:45 pm) pilates (Thursdays Noon–12:45 pm), running speed and strength training (Thursdays 5:30–6:15 pm). Other programs starting the week after include yoga (Fridays 6:30–7:15 am), bootcamp (Mondays/Wednesdays 5:00–5:45 pm, and Thursdays 6:30–7:15 am), runners speed work training (Tuesdays 6:30–7:15 am), TRX suspension training (Tuesdays at 12:45 pm).
