This year marks the 50th anniversary of Korea-Canada Diplomatic Relations. It's formally recognized by both governments as 鈥渢he Year of Korea in Canada鈥 and 鈥渢he Year of Canada in Korea.鈥 A special presentation by Mr. Hee-yong Cho, South Korean Ambassador to Canada will take place on Thursday, September 12, 3:30鈥4:20 pm, in the Faculty Lounge, Main Building. Mr. Cho will introduce the past, present, and future of Korea-Canada diplomatic relations and discuss a strategic partnership between two nations by identifying new ways to enhance South Korea鈥檚 relationships with Atlantic Canada. He will educate 69传媒students, faculty, staff, and the general public about this vital topic and its international implications for educational, business, or career opportunities and benefits in PEI or South Korea. The presentation is co-hosted by UPEI's Faculty of Arts鈥擜sian Studies, History, and Political Science. Animal Welfare in Practice - Companion Animal Behaviour SJDAWC and AW Club, September 13-14; lecture theatre A The 9th annual 鈥淎nimal Welfare: In Practice鈥 conference will focus on common behaviour issues in dogs and cats, their impact on the welfare of pets, and the importance of positive interactions in the prevention and management of such problems. There will be a public talk on Friday evening (鈥淢y dog just tore down my blinds鈥. and other behavior issues in dogs and cats鈥) and clinical presentations on Saturday on treatment of behavior problems in dogs and in cats (Dr. Barbara Sherman), and pharmacology of drugs used (Dr. Sandra McConkey). The Atlantic Veterinary College will no longer be staffed by Security Attendants, as of September 9, 2013. Following that date, security needs at AVC will be responded to by 69传媒Security Officers on a priority-dispatch basis. Security response to non-emergency requirements at AVC will be limited and departments should adjust their operating procedures accordingly. Facilities Management (Security Services Division) has been in consultation with AVC administration and departments regarding this change and will continue to work closely with them to ensure the transition is as seamless as possible. Keynote speakers include focus group gurus, Dr. Richard Krueger and Dr. Mary Anne Casey. UPEI's own Dr. Blake Jelley is also one of the featured presenters. Please ensure that you always download the current forms from and use Adobe Reader to complete forms. Submit one copy of original protocol with signatures to 200 Kelley Memorial Building. Submissions received after the deadline will reviewed at the following month's meeting.
