Take part in the Mental Health Week Wrap-up on Friday, March 13 at 3:00 pm at The Wave, W.A. Murphy Student Centre. The event will feature a safe-listening and non-judgemental environment where various students, staff and faculty members will share their stories and encounters with mental illness. These stories will provide us with an opportunity to learn, care, and be inspired to help ourselves and those around us living with mental illnesses, and remind us all, that Relationships Matter. Refreshments will be provided. All are welcome to attend!

Ethics protocols that involve 鈥榤ore than minimal risk鈥� must be reviewed by the full 69传媒Research Ethics Board. The next deadline for submitting these protocols is Thursday, April 2, 2015. They will be reviewed at the April meeting. Protocols involving 鈥榤ore than minimal risk鈥� that are received after April 2 will be reviewed at the May meeting. Other ethics protocol submissions, including new applications that do not involve 鈥榤ore than minimal risk鈥�, renewals, and amendments may be submitted at any time. Take part in a showing of "A Beautiful Mind," a biopic of John Nash and his experiences with schizophrenia, starring Russell Crowe and directed by Ron Howard on Thursday, March 12 at 6:30 pm in the Duffy Science Centre, room 135. Immediately following the movie, there will be a discussion facilitated by Dr. Jason Doiron, and Michael Matusiewicz. This event is free and popcorn will be provided!

Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, brings an incredible calmness, quietness and clarity to the body and will be offered on Thursday, March 12 from 12:45 鈥� 1:30 pm in the Chaplaincy Centre, as part of Mental Health Week. Yoga Nidra is one of the deepest of all meditations, leading awareness through many levels of mental process to a state of supreme stillness and insight. All are welcome to attend. Bring a mat, pillow, blanket and any additional props.

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to join a discussion on mental health and what it means to our international community here at UPEI, on Thursday, March 12 from 12:00-1:00 pm in the PIT, Robertson Library. This session will be led by Marion Clorey, counsellor, and Erica Stanley, international student advisor. All guests are welcome to bring their lunch. Sweets and coffee will be provided.

Staff and faculty are invited to join the Psychology Society for a night of mental-health-themed trivia at the Wave in support of mental health awareness on Wednesday, March 11 at 8:30 pm at The Wave, W.A. Murphy Student Centre.

Mr. Tarek Mady will give a research presentation on Friday March 13 at 9:00 am in Don and Marion McDougall Hall, room 328. Mr. Mady's teaching presentation on International Pricing is from 2:30-3:30 pm in Kelley Memorial Building, room 211. Everyone is welcome to attend both presentations.

John Nicholson will present the last of this year's public talks in the History of Medicine series on Wednesday, March 11, at 7:00 pm at the Health Sciences Building, room 301. This is a photographic history of the 10th Canadian Field Hospital from January to July of 1902. The photographs were taken by 20 year old William Alexander McKee from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. He along with over 900 other Canadians enlisted with the last Canadian contingent to see active service in the South African Anglo/Boer War. The contingent consisted of the 2nd Canadian Mounted Rifles, the 10th Canadian Field Hospital and a team of 8 Nursing Sisters. All are welcome to attend!

CPA Atlantic School of Business has rescheduled its information session to Friday, March 13 from 10:00 - 11:00 am in Don and Marion McDougall Hall, room 318. Dr. Po-Yen Chou will be interviewing for one of two open, tenure-track faculty positions in small animal surgery in the Department of Companion Animals at the Atlantic Veterinary College. He will give a presentation titled: "Complications of Gastrointestinal Surgery: How to avoid them & how to manage them," on Friday, March 13 at 11:30am at AVC, Lecture Theatre A. Dr. Chou graduated from the National Taiwan University with a Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and with a Master of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. He joined the Department of Companion Animals in 2011; first as an intern in our Small Animal Medicine & Surgery Rotating Internship program and is now in the final year of a three-year Small Animal Surgical Residency program. As part of the interview process, Dr. Chou has been asked to present a 50-minute lecture suitable for 3rd year DVM students. Any interested faculty or staff are invited to attend. The 69传媒Music Department is pleased to present a showcase recital featuring 69传媒music students in performance. Works to be performed on clarinet, saxophone, oboe, trombone, and voice by various composers, including Rabaud, Telemann, Poulenc, Bach, Britten and others. This recital will take place at Tuesday, March 10 at 7:30 pm at the Kirk of St. James, Charlottetown. All are welcome to attend and admission is free.

Meditation is one of the best tools we have to balance our emotions, deal with physical and psychological distress, and promote the peace of the present moment. Let yourself be guided through a healing meditation on Tuesday, March 10 beginning at 12:45 pm in the Chaplaincy Centre. Wear comfortable clothes and bring a mat or pillow. Dr. Amanda Cockshutt, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry, Mount Allison University will present a seminar on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 12:30 pm. Dr. Cockshutt鈥檚 presentation is entitled 鈥淚nteractions of the Molecular Biology and Physiology of Marine Picocyanobacteria鈥�. The seminar will be held in the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre, Lecture Theatre, Room 212.

Reid Burke, Executive Director, Canadian Mental Health Association and Anne Bartlett, 69传媒Student Affairs, will provide information on services offered on the Island and with-in our 69传媒community.

Come chat with John about his experiences and listen to his story on Wednesday, March 11 from 6:30 鈥� 8:00 pm in the Campus Life Lounge, Student Affairs, W.A. Murphy Student Centre.

Watch and discuss slam poetry (competition where people read their poems without props, costumes, or music) online on Wednesday, March 11 from 2:30-4:00 pm in the Campus Life Lounge, Student Affairs, W.A.
