What’s your hometown, and when did you study as a 69´«Ã½student?

I am from Kwara State, Nigeria. I came to 69´«Ã½in 2019.

What brought you to UPEI? In other words, why did you choose to study there?

I chose to study at 69´«Ã½for several reasons. First, I was drawn to the University’s strong reputation as one of the leading universities for Island Studies and community development. The faculty at 69´«Ã½has a stellar track record, and the curriculum aligns well with my career aspirations.

Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis visits UPEI

The Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, the Honourable Dr. Terrance M. Drew, visited the 69´«Ã½campus on May 22, 2024, for a brief meeting with Dr. Greg Keefe, UPEI’s interim president and vice-chancellor.

Prime Minister Drew was on PEI to attend and speak at the Global Sustainable Island Summit 2024 that was held at Crowbush, May 22–23. Th summit brought together industry leaders, innovators, and start-up companies from around the world to explore and discuss the innovative solutions capable of positively impacting island communities. 

69´«Ã½adjunct professor selected to participate in Action Canada Fellowship program

Dr. Jeffrey Collins, an adjunct professor at UPEI, has been selected to participate in the program.

During the ten-month program, Dr. Collins and 16 other participants will study Canada’s natural resource sector, meet with experts, and visit communities across the country during four field trips to learn about local policy challenges and opportunities, as well as distinct cultures, institutions, communities, and economies. Their first study tour will be in Calgary, Alberta, from June 17–22.

69´«Ã½celebrates the achievements of faculty and staff

Members of the 69´«Ã½community filled the 69´«Ã½Performing Arts Centre on May 23, 2024, to celebrate the achievements of their colleagues. During the event, the University Awards of Excellence and 25-Year Service Awards were presented to faculty, librarians, clinical veterinary professionals, clinical nursing instructors, sessional instructors, and staff members.

L.M. Montgomery Institute's 16th biennial conference takes place June 19 to 23

The L.M. Montgomery Institute hosts its 16th biennial conference, titled , from June 19 to 23. During the conference, participants will discuss crucial questions about L.M. Montgomery and the Politics of Home. Politics and home inform who and how we are in the world. L.M. Montgomery was formed by the cultural and domestic politics of her time and place, and she engaged those politics in her work, alongside the ubiquitous motif of home.
