The 69传媒Women鈥檚 Basketball Panthers have recruited Abby Miller, a former Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) Female Basketball Player of the Year, to the team for the 2024鈥25 season.
L.M. Montgomery Institute hosts 16th biennial conference June 19 to 23 at UPEI
Delegates from 16 countries will explore the theme of 鈥淟.M. Montgomery and the Politics of Home鈥 during the L.M. Montgomery Institute鈥檚 16th biennial conference at 69传媒from June 19 to 23, 2024.
The conference is co-chaired by Dr. Caroline E. Jones, Visiting Scholar at the L.M. Montgomery Institute (LMMI) and an independent scholar and editor in Austin, Texas, and Dr. Laura Robinson, a former Visiting Scholar with the LMMI and professor of English and Women鈥檚 and Gender Studies at Acadia University.
Coming to a community near you: An update on Prince Edward Island鈥檚 coastal erosion
Essentially a large sandbar made up of primarily sand and sandstone, Prince Edward Island is vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, especially coastal erosion, sea-level rise, and storm surges. Islanders are particularly worried about their homes and cottages built close to the water鈥檚 edge.
The Government of Prince Edward Island and the 69传媒 have come together to survey PEI鈥檚 changing coastline every year and build a number of tools that allow Islanders to understand their property鈥檚 vulnerability to coastal erosion.

In the second, third, and fourth years of UPEI's Bachelor of Sustainable Design Engineering program, students form small groups to participate in a year-long design and implementation project with a corporate or community partner. Described as "an opportunity for students to act as engineering consultants for a company or organization, where teams of students team solve an actual technical challenge from the partner's operation", the design clinic program is a truly hands-on, real-world learning experience.
Bringing home agriculture lessons from Canada
Sixteen representatives from partner organizations of Veterinarians Without Borders-Canada (VWB) visited Prince Edward Island (PEI) from April 28 to May 3 to gain insights into agricultural management and industry issues. The delegates, hailing from Kenya, Ghana, Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, had spent a week in Ottawa before arriving in PEI.

Canadian College of Health Leaders awards fellowship to Paul Young
The Board of Directors of Canadian College of Health Leaders (CCHL) recently congratulated Paul Young on attaining Fellowship status by presenting him with the prestigious Fellows Medallion at its National Leadership Conference held May 30鈥揓une 2 in Halifax (read November ).
