The 69´«Ã½Mawi’omi Indigenous Student Centre has created a new award for Indigenous students attending the University, with support from the Government of Prince Edward Island.

The University issued an update to students and employees on April 6 to advise that Minister Bloyce Thompson has appointed Michelle Flaherty as the mediator for the upcoming talks with the 69´«Ã½Faculty Association.

The following message outlining student supports, activities, and events available during the strike was also emailed to 69´«Ã½students on behalf of 69´«Ã½Student Affairs on April 6, 2023. Please note that some programming is not taking place over the holiday weekend.

The University and 69´«Ã½Faculty Association have agreed to return to the bargaining table with the assistance of a government-appointed mediator.

UPEI’s Department of Athletics and Recreation celebrated the 2022–23 season at the annual 69´«Ã½Panther Celebration—Athletic Awards Gala on Thursday, March 30, recognizing outstanding student-athletes who have excelled in sport, the classroom, and the community. 

The 69´«Ã½ community is saddened to learn of the recent death of Dr. Kai Liu, assistant professor in the 69´«Ã½School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences.

For the third consecutive year, the 69´«Ã½Distance Running Program is managing the popular PEI Bunny Hop, which will take place on Saturday, April 8, starting at 8:30 am at Colonel Gray High School.

The 69´«Ã½Women’s Rugby Panthers are excited to welcome Alanna Mabey to their team for the 2023–24 season. Head coach James Voye believes the local 17-year-old standout from Stratford, PEI, possesses high-end talent and fits the mould of a core player who can help the women’s rugby program continue to excel.
