He was Professor at the University of Toronto from 1975-2003. After retirement in 2003, he moved to Little Lepreau, New Brunswick and took a position as Research Associate at the New Brunswick Museum, Saint John. He is also an Emeritus Professor at the University of Toronto and Honorary Research Associate at UNB, serving on two graduate student supervisory committees involving mercury uptake in mycorrhizal fungi and white-nose syndrome in hibernating bats. Marisa Berry Mendez, of the Canadian Council for Refugees, will address new developments in immigration and refugee policy in Canada, making room for a discussion about these important issues which are changing the face of Canadian society. Regulation 13:A - Examination Regulations Restrictions on Testing: No tests or examinations of any kind are to be held during the two-week period preceding the final day of classes, nor during any reading period, without the permission of the chair and the appropriate dean. In-class presentations and practical [lab] examinations scheduled on the course outline are excepted. What this means is that no professor is permitted to assign any test or exam until the start of the normal examination period. This is to allow students to focus on completing all assignments without the added distraction of tests. Academic regulations exist to govern the student’s academic course and degree requirements until graduation. Students often don't know about this regulation or they are scared to speak up. If you find yourself with a test next week, rescheduled or otherwise, the Student Union can help! We're students too, we get it - this time of year is stressful enough. Nowruz (from "Now" meaning new and "Ruz" meaning day) marks the beginning of the Persian New Year.
