To All Staff and Faculty, Over the past several months, Jan Link, former Fair Treatment advisor with UPEI, has been facilitating sessions on Creating and Maintaining a Respectful Workplace at UPEI. These sessions have been divided into two separate streams, given the separate levels of responsibility that exist for managers/supervisors and those of employees. Feedback from the sessions tells us that these sessions are valuable and time well spent. Ernie Doiron, Coordinator, Business Co-operative Education says: "The healthy workplace workshops are excellent! Facilitator Jan Link is a trusted and respected colleague. The handouts are practical and outline ideas easy to implement All faculty and staff should attend them. Dr. Gloria McInnis-Perry, RN, Faculty, School of Nursing says: "Everyone should attend the respectful workplace workshop presented by Jan Link as it provides an excellent overview of what relational responsibilities we have when working with others, immaterial to whom and where we work. Jan engages all to consider work experiences where disregard and thus, disrespect for others has occurred, and offers practical solutions for those difficult conversations." At this time, there is only one additional session planned for employees: Monday, June 24 at 1:30-3:30 pm (location tbd) We would encourage you to attend this session, if possible. Please register with HR (humanresource@upei.ca). Respectful workplace behaviours impact everyone on campus and it is the hope of the Healthy Campus Committee that everyone take the opportunity to participate in a session. This is especially important in uncertain and challenging times when emotions can be more fragile. Thank you and we look forward to another great session and the chance to spend some time learning together. Ryan Johnston & Leo Cheverie Co-Chairs, 69传媒Healthy Campus Committee
