The discussion will speak to the future of the public service in Prince Edward Island, and what it looks like鈥 ex: layoffs, packages, etc鈥攊s this the new normal? All are welcome to attend and breakfast will be served. To register, please visit by November 8. Payment is required for all cancellations occurring less than 48 hours before scheduled event. The One Match 'Get Swabbed!' event is an initiative of Canadian Blood Services to increase Stem Cell donors into the OneMatch Stem Cell and Marrow Network. This event is part of a nationwide university challenge. 'Get Swabbed!' is an annual coast-to-coast university challenge designed to engage and recruit young and diverse potential stem cell donors. This year marks the fifth annual event where university students across the country will be bracing their cheeks to determine this year's national champion. In just 5 to 10 minutes, you could change a life forever. Currently more than 900 patients are looking for a match in Canada. In addition, there is currently special need for 17 to 35 year old males who are ethnically diverse and in good general health to join the registry. Dr. Ralf Br眉ning, Physics Department, Mount Allison University will present a seminar on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at 12:30 pm. Dr. Br眉ning鈥檚 presentation is entitled 鈥淢easuring the Effects of Electrolyte Composition and Process Parameters on the Mechanical State of Copper Films.鈥 The seminar will be held in the Regis and Joan Duffy Research Centre, Lecture Theatre room 212.
Athletic Yoga鈥攂egins October 24 This athletic fitness style yoga is a total mind-body workout featuring cardiovascular conditioning, muscle balance, strength, power, flexibility, relaxation and breathing in a fitness format. The program takes place on Wednesdays from 5:00-5:45 pm. Athletic Yoga for Teens鈥攂egins October 24 This athletic fitness style of yoga is just for teenagers. It combines a workout featuring cardiovascular conditioning, muscle balance, strength, power and flexibility. The program will take place on Wednesdays from 4:00-4:45 pm. *Fees for sessions are $60 + hst for 6 classes. Members receive a 15% discount off these classes=$51 + hst for 6 classes. Cycling in the Zone - begins October 23 Blast off using effective riding techinques, and learn how to measure your progress by controlling force and velocity to maximize your wattage output. This class takes place on Wednesdays from 4:30 pm-5:15 pm. Ultimate Conditioning - begins October 22 This class is a great mix of TRX, spin and speed training. With interval training and speed portions you will increase your endurance, burn fat and improve your tone. When you sign up for a six week session of Ultimate Conditioning, each week you can attend either the Tuesday morning or Saturday morning class for your workout that week. Tuesday's class is 6:30 am-7:15 am and Saturday's class is 10:00 am-10:45 am. *Fees for sessions are $60 + hst for 6 classes. Members receive a 15% discount off these classes=$51 + hst for 6 classes. Join your fellow AVC/69传媒students, staff, faculty and friends as we play six ends of curling at the Charlottetown Curling Complex, 241 Euston Street, 892-7467 that features the new Callbeck's Bar & Grill for evening dining. The first night of the season will be this Saturday, October 19 at 6:00 pm. Cost is $8.00 (any money left over at the end of the season goes to the PEI Humane Society). The first 10 teams that sign up and pay are guaranteed a spot on the ice. There is still one ice available for eight curlers. Do not know how to curl? No problem! I can show you how if you show up a few minutes early the nights you sign up. Wear warm comfortable clothing. No street shoes please, bring clean sneakers. Sliders and brooms are provided.
