As a result of the power interruption the campus experienced on Thursday, July 20, we will be required to have a power shutdown that will affect all campus buildings. This shutdown is scheduled for Thursday, July 27, 2023, beginning at 6:00 am, and is expected to take approximately 1 hour to complete.

Since the power outage last Thursday, the campus has been getting power from University Avenue. The shutdown on July 27 is necessary for Maritime Electric to transfer power back to the substation from which we usually get our power.

The emergency power generators will be started for each building prior to the beginning of the power interruptions, which means that there will be no delay of power for anything currently on emergency power when the power is disconnected.

Facilities Management apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Jackie MacPhail at jmacphail@upei.ca or 902-566-6034.
