Ravensburg 1494: 10 years after the city鈥檚 first witch-hunt, a process led by Henricus Institoris, co-author of the infamous Malleus maleficarum. This was the setting for a fourth-year role-playing course that Richard Raiswell ran last year, which focused on an imagined return of the Inquisition to this important early modern trading centre, and the intellectual, social, and political tensions it exposed.

Bring your lunch and join us to discuss the pedagogy underlying teaching-through-game-play, and sketch some of the advantages and difficulties inherent in such an approach.
