Experiential Learning Initiative Fund Launched - Deadline December 2

Posting Date(s)

The 69传媒Experiential Learning department is pleased to announce the creation of an Experiential Learning Initiative Fund. The fund will support new curricular experiential and work-integrated learning opportunities for the Winter 2022 semester.

Do you have an idea that would give your students an innovative hands-on learning experience or build a connection with local community and industry, but the cost to incorporate it has been a barrier?

Grants of up to $2,500 will be awarded for new curricular experiential and work-integrated learning opportunities and will be assessed based on innovation and impact. Priority will be given to creative pilot projects that have the potential for sustainability beyond the grant-funding.

Project proposals could look like:

  • A class visit to a business or worksite where students are able to put into practice a concept or process being taught in the class, where transportation is needed

  • An  where funding could support innovative knowledge mobilization for the community partner and stakeholders

  • A  where students require a considerable amount of supervision by the partner organization and the situation warrants an honorarium

  • A  where the acquisition of adaptive technologies would reduce barriers to WIL for students with disabilities

  • An  project (with a community or industry partner involved) where tools or resources for prototyping enable students to move their ventures forward beyond the traditional scope of the course

Note: If you don鈥檛 have a community or industry partner identified or need help framing your engagement - we can help.

Please submit your requests via the form linked to below. The deadline for request is Thursday, December 2, 2021. Submissions will be responded to by Thursday, December 9, 2021.

If you have any questions about the funding, process or if you鈥檇 like to discuss your idea, please reach out to Megan MacLean, at megmaclean@upei.ca, 902-628-4315.
