SEASON PREVIEW: 69传媒Men鈥檚 Soccer Panthers eyeing rebound season in 2023

With a fresh start and outlook, the 69传媒Panthers are looking ahead to bigger and better things in 2023.

It鈥檚 typically an annual tradition seeing the Panthers celebrate a postseason berth, but 2022 was an outlier, as the team finished the year with a 1-9-2 record and missed the playoffs for only the third time in a decade.

For players like Jonathan MacKenzie, who already experienced the thrill of playoff soccer, the drive to get back there and compete for a championship is a huge motivator.

"After my four-month exchange program I knew I wanted to return to UPEI, and soon!"

What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?

I am from Central Village, St. Catherine, Jamaica. I first came to 69传媒on an exchange program all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed (this is after I lost my luggage on the way here as it was my first time traveling and I didn't "mark" my bag and subsequently missed my connecting flight! But that's a whole other story) in August 2014. I was here to complete one semester of my undergraduate degree in Business Administration but after my four-month exchange, I knew I wanted to return to UPEI, and soon.
