69´«Ã½and Health PEI are inviting consultants to submit proposals to assess and analyze PEI’s health system capacity to integrate medical learners from the 69´«Ã½â€™s Faculty of Medicine. The new Faculty will be offering a joint doctor of medicine degree with partner Memorial University.

Dr. Greg Keefe, UPEI’s interim President and Vice-Chancellor, delivered a presentation to approximately 75 people on January 13, 2023, updating them on the progress of the development of the 69´«Ã½Faculty of Medicine, the joint doctor of medicine degree with Memorial University, and the new building being built at the north end of campus that will house the new faculty.

The 69´«Ã½ will hold a series of town hall meetings across PEI to get public input about the development of a joint medical degree with Memorial University. All are welcome to attend any of the meetings.

In a message to the campus community, President Keefe announced several key appointments for the University including that of Dr. Greg Naterer who will be UPEI's new Vice-President Academic and Research effective May 1, 2022.

Today, the Honourable Dennis King, Premier of Prince Edward Island, and Dr. Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, President and Vice-Chancellor of the 69´«Ã½, announced the expansion of the Faculty of Nursing and 69´«Ã½Health and Wellness Centre, as well as the establishment of a new Faculty of Medicine at UPEI.
