The Department of Biology at the 69´«Ã½ invites applications from 69´«Ã½students who are interested in assisting in laboratories and/or marking in the following Biology courses in the 2024-2025 Academic Year:

 

Fall Courses:

Current Issues in Environmental Biology (Bio 1010), Introductory Microbiology for Health Sciences (Bio 1060) Human Anatomy (Bio 1210)/Human Anatomy & Histology (Bio 2260), Genes, Cells and Macromolecules (Bio 1310), Zoology (Bio 2040), Ecology (Bio 2220), Research Methods and Communications in Biology (Bio 3310), Intro Physiology of Cells and Organisms (Bio 3260), Biology of Fishes (Bio 3610), Evolutionary Biology (Bio 3820), Marine Biology (Bio 3910), Watershed Ecology (Bio 4620), Plant Animal Interactions (Bio 4660), Molecular Biotechnology (Bio 4710). 

 

Winter Courses:

Human Physiology (Bio 1220), Organisms & Their Environment (Bio 1320), Botany (Bio 2020), Microbiology (Bio 2060), Cell & Molecular Biology (Bio 2210), Genetics I (Bio 2230)/Human Genetics (Bio 2240), Genetics II (Bio 3230), Molecular Biology Research Techniques (Bio 3520), Human Physiology and Pathophysiology (Bio 4010), Comparative Environmental Vertebrate Physiology (Bio 4020), Conservation Genetics (Bio 4130), Biogeography and Macroecology (Bio 4520), Environmental Toxicology (Bio 4850)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Duties include:

  • Assisting in laboratories and/or tutorials, and marking exams and assignments

  • The successful applicants will be required to participate on a weekly basis for the duration of the applicable semester

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Applicants must:

  • Must be an undergraduate student in the Faculty of Science in good standing
  • Have Good communication skills
  • Be WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) trained or be willing to take the training
  • Must have knowledge of the course material and have an acceptable academic record (min. 2.7 GPA)
  • Indicate if they are applying for Lab Assisting or Marking or both.
