The McDougall Faculty of Business (MFoB) is seeking an individual to provide a wide variety of academic support for its’ graduate programs and students. Working closely with the MFoB’s Dean, Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Research, MBA Programs Manager, faculty, and students to help ensure quality academic programs and a positive student experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Application and Student Success Support

  • Coordinate the graduate application process and tracking system, including receiving applications from Registrar’s office, reviewing and summarizing the applications, distributing applications to the Admissions Committee, tracking applications, issuing admission memos and correspondence to students
  • Oversee the candidate interview platform
  • Conduct research on MBA related information
  • Monitor and respond to generic email accounts for MBA programs
  • Respond and meet with students regarding program requirements and pathways
  • Referring students to other supports available within the institution
  • Liaise with Registrar’s office and other units on matters pertaining to courses, programs, or inquiries from students, including but not limited to transfer credits, Letter of Permission, etc.)
  • Liaise with the 69´«Ã½Students Advising team and international office
  • Assist with deferral requests

Assistance with Program Administration

  • Coordinate the contracts for external facilitators required for orientation and other professional development offerings
  • Prepare fee for service contracts following procedures as outlined at myUPEI.ca
  • Maintain records of academic regulations, academics dishonesty and student appeals
  • Coordinating with Faculty of Graduate Studies as needed
  • Assist the scholarships committee with preparation of documents for review
  • Assist the MBA Programs Manager as needed

Marketing, Recruitment, and Event Planning

  • Assist with the development and upkeep of promotional materials
  • Organize student, alumni, and guest speaker events
  • Promote alumni engagement
  • Assist with the planning, coordination, and promotion of MFOB events such as orientation, conferences, luncheons, receptions, open houses and other events.
  • Coordinate recruitment activities and research new recruitment opportunities
  • Coordinate sponsorship agreements
  • Assist with new student-centered initiatives
  • Support the planning of recruitment events and attend if needed
  • Oversee the upkeep of program websites and coordinate the creation of content for social media and newsletters
  • Assist with marketing the MBA program
  • Liase with the MFOB Academic Support and Student Success Assistant on student event planning and other initiatives
  • Liase with the marketing and communications department.
  • Promote opportunities and awards to students and prospective applicants
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor’s degree from a recognized post-secondary program in a related area is required. Previous and relevant work experience in a university environment is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Experience and use of computers with various software programs such as Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Mail Chimp and internet. Familiarity with the following 69´«Ã½specific programs would be an asset: myUPEI, Colleague, 25 Live
  • The successful candidate must be able to work independently and take initiative where appropriate. They must possess excellent communication skills (both written and oral) and be able to function as an effective team member in a busy academic department. Other traits to be considered include strong interpersonal skills, good judgment and decision-making skills, and adaptability and flexibility in a variety of situations
  • Familiarity with University regulations and policies will be considered an asset
