The Department of Student Affairs at 69´«Ã½is seeking an Exam Coordinator. The Exam Coordinators are responsible for coordinating the department’s testing and exam accommodation services. Reporting to the Manager of Accessibility Services, the Exam Coordinators are an essential part of the Student Affairs team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborating and sharing responsibilities with the other Exam Coordinator and working closely with the Administrative Assistant to ensure smooth administration of exams within the department
  • Maintaining the Department of Accessibility Services’ Exam Booking system, Accommodate
  • Be the primary contact for coordinating, scheduling, and administering testing accommodations and exam support services for 69´«Ã½and AVC exams, including scheduling Exam Proctors
  • Scheduling and booking rooms to accommodate the individual needs of students
  • Coordinating the communication of exam location, time, and accommodations to students and faculty
  • Maintaining confidentiality and security of all testing materials
  • Ensuring access to exam materials promptly
  • Coordinating the invigilation of UPEI and AVC internal exams (may include evenings, weekends, and being on call during peak times)
  • Be the point of contact for student staff who are proctoring exams after hours
  • Arranging accommodations needed for exams invigilated through Accessibility Services. For example, scribing services, text-to-speech software, increased time to write exams and low lighting
  • Coordinating the setup of the adaptive technologies required for students to complete tests and exams
  • Providing oversight of academic integrity principles and practices
  • Supporting the Manager of Accessibility Services in training, supervision, and scheduling of test proctors, scribes, and readers
  • Providing referrals for academic support to students with accessibility needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree (Bachelor of Education would be considered an asset)
  • An understanding of appropriate teaching pedagogies, learning accommodations and inclusive practices are an asset
  • Experience working with students with disabilities or working in a related area is an asset
  • Experience using Kurzweil, Dictate, Accommodate, Microsoft Office Suite and PC systems. Skilled in Excel functions is an asset
  • Experience with conflict resolution, handling situations with tact and professionalism
  • The successful candidate will exhibit dependability and honesty
  • The successful candidate will exhibit excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Supervisory experience, as well as knowledge of the administration and coordination of exams is an asset
