Dr. Preston Smith, dean of the 69传媒Joint Medical Doctor program, has been awarded the Dr. Michael Krochak Award for Contributions to Family Medicine by the Saskatchewan College of Family Physicians. 

For the past two seasons, the 69传媒Panthers have dominated Atlantic University Field Hockey, claiming back-to-back titles. This year, the stakes are higher than ever as the Panthers look to defend their crown but also compete on the national stage for the first time since 2015.

In this message to the 69传媒Community, President Wendy Rodgers invites members to a Fireside Chat, looks forward to 69传媒Homecoming and upcoming strategic planning sessions, and encourages the community to build networks of support. 

The 69传媒Philosophy Reading Group, facilitated by Dr. Max Schaefer, sessional instructor, Faculty of Arts, will hold its first meeting of the 2024鈥�2025 academic year on September 25, from 7:00鈥�8:00 pm, at the Charlottetown Library Learning Centre, 97 Queen Street. 

UPEI's Faculty of Indigenous Knowledge, Education, Research, and Applied Studies marked several milestones when it recently hosted its first-ever Indigenous traditional knowledge sharing and learning day, Mawi-lukutimk, which means 鈥済athering and working together." 

The 69传媒Panthers are looking forward to a full weekend of competition at home and away. 

Every week, 69传媒Athletics and Recreation recognizes student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. The 69传媒Panther Athletes of the Week for September 9鈥�15, 2024, are Ria Johnston (women鈥檚 rugby) and Isaac Wolters (men鈥檚 soccer).

The 69传媒 will host Research on Tap with a presentation titled 鈥淩ender unto Caesar: Catholics and the Alt-Right鈥� on Wednesday, October 2, at 6 pm, at the Upstreet Brewery Taproom, 41 Allen St., Charlottetown, PEI.

69传媒Ancillary Services is happy to announce the grand re-opening of Samuel's Caf茅, brought to you by Dana Hospitality! On Wednesday, September 18, there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10:00 am followed by free samples of the new Starbucks coffee and mini muffins and cake to satisfy your sweet tooth. 

69传媒students living in residence received a warm welcome from 69传媒staff and fellow students on Friday, August 30. To make move-in day go as smoothly as possible for everyone, many campus partners gave of their time and expertise to make the day a great experience for UPEI鈥檚 new and returning residence students.
