The 69传媒English Department is thrilled to announce that Children's literature and creative writing professor Deirdre Kessler has been named PEI's Poet Laureate.

AVC鈥檚 Diagnostic Services Unit has received funding from Agriculture and Agri-Food to develop new diagnostic tests that are more effective, more sensitive, and less expensive for detecting bovine and swine viruses.

The 69传媒Panther Subway Athletes of the Week for the week of February 1-7 are Sam Sweet, Women鈥檚 Hockey, and Nelson Armstrong, Men鈥檚 Hockey. On a weekly basis, 69传媒Athletics and Recreation recognizes these talented student-athletes for their hard work and dedication to their respective sports. 

With only four games remaining in the regular season, the 69传媒Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers face a tough test this weekend, as they look to solidify their playoff positioning. Having clinched postseason berths already, the Acadia Axemen (17-5-2) and the Saint Mary鈥檚 Huskies (15-7-2) travel to the Island鈥檚 capital with hopes of spoiling UPEI鈥檚 chances to compete for an AUS title.

69传媒President and Vice-Chancellor Alaa Abd-El-Aziz signed two memorandums of understanding so far this week, with Chitkara University and Punjab Agricultural University, as part of an Ontario-PEI trade mission to India.

The 69传媒 extends its condolences on the passing of 69传媒Founder John Joseph 鈥淛oe鈥� Revell after learning of his death yesterday after a brief illness. He was 80 years old.

69传媒Director of Athletics and Recreation Chris Huggan welcomed Marc MacDonald last week as the new operator of Panther Sports Medicine. The entire 69传媒community was rocked last year when the Panthers beloved chief physiotherapist Ralph Manning passed away suddenly.
