Dr. Sarah Gallagher, an associate professor of physics and astronomy at the University of Western Ontario, will be at 69传媒as part of the 2017 Canadian Association of Physicists Lecture Tour.

The 69传媒 took further steps today to honour the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report when President and Vice-Chancellor Alaa Abd-El-Aziz announced plans for an Indigenous advisory group. 鈥�69传媒is committed to being fully aware of the role our institution must play in promoting a better understanding of Aboriginal history and culture, and supporting respectful relationships based on mutual understanding with members of our Indigenous community,鈥� said President Abd-El-Aziz.

Dr. Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Prince Edward Island, announced today that four exceptional leaders in their respective fields will be awarded honorary Doctor of Laws degrees at Convocation ceremonies on May 13, 2017. Honorary degrees will be conferred upon Indigenous leader and Elder Ms. Judith Clark of York, PEI; business and community leader Mr. Stan MacPherson of Charlottetown; 69传媒past-president and professor emeritus Dr. Elizabeth Epperly of Wolfville, Nova Scotia; and SDU alumnus and business owner Mr. Allan Curran of Bay Shore, New York.

UPEI鈥檚 Faculty of Business will hold an information session for those interested in its Executive MBA program. The event will be Wednesday, April 5 at 5:00 pm at The Gallery in The Guild in Charlottetown.

The Government of Canada has made a more than $51 million investment in research equipment across the country through the most recent round of the Canada Foundation for Innovation鈥檚 (CFI) John R. Evans Leaders Fund (JELF). Among the projects supported is one led by , an assistant professor in the Department of Applied Human Sciences at UPEI.

The next Island Studies Lecture is Tuesday, March 14, at 7:00 pm in the Faculty Lounge of UPEI鈥檚 SDU Main Building. Dr. Peter Buker will speak about scale and governance, including its effects on small islands such as Prince Edward Island.
