December is one of the busiest months in the academic year for students, filled with final assignments, exams, and presentations. A number of activities are being held across the campus to offer students some relief from the stress of studying and meeting deadlines.

The following statement was issued to the 69´«Ã½campus community by Dr. Alaa Abd-El-Aziz, President and Vice-Chancellor in observance of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women in Canada.

Today, December 6, is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women in Canada. Established in 1991 by the Parliament of Canada, the day marks the anniversary of the murders in 1989 of 14 young women at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal.

Forty-eight 69´«Ã½students were recognized for effective writing skills at the sixth annual MacLauchlan Prizes for Effective Writing celebration held in Don and Marion McDougall Hall on Friday, November 24.
