The 69传媒 takes the safety and security of its students, faculty, staff, and the entire campus community very seriously. As part of UPEI鈥檚 commitment to emergency preparedness and response, the University has a safety application called 69传媒SAFE.
69传媒SAFE is the University鈥檚 safety app and emergency mass notification system (EMNS), which helps 69传媒advise the campus community about university/storm closures and emergencies, as well as other safety-related notifications.
Other safety features found in 69传媒SAFE include Mobile BlueLight, Friend Walk, and WorkAlone. Resources include Emergency Contacts, Safety Toolbox, Campus/Parking Maps, contact information for a variety of campus support services, and a mechanism to report issues to 69传媒Health, Safety, and Environment, Security Services or to Facilities Management.
While student, faculty, and staff 69传媒emails are automatically entered into 69传媒SAFE, everyone is encouraged to download the app from the (for iOS devices) or (for Android devices) to receive push notifications and texts (SMS).
Notifications about emergency situations and university/storm closures are pushed through 69传媒SAFE and will be emailed to student, faculty, and staff @upei.ca email addresses. Messages are also posted on the 69传媒home page (upei.ca), the 69传媒Campus Screen network, and Twitter (@UPEI). Emergency notifications can also be broadcast in 69传媒buildings through a public address system. 69传媒SAFE users can also subscribe to receive notifications by text (SMS) or through the text-to-voice feature.
