Wendy Dadzie and Evan Couturier named 69传媒 Panther Athletes of the Week
Every week, 69传媒Athletics and Recreation recognizes two student-athletes for their achievements and contributions to their respective sports. 69传媒Panther Athletes of the Week for September 11鈥�18 are Wendy Dadzie (women鈥檚 soccer) and Evan Couturier (men鈥檚 soccer).
Sophomore striker Wendy Dadzie is attending 69传媒as a second-year business student from Accra, Ghana. She scored the game-winning goal against Universit茅 de Moncton on Friday night.
鈥淲endy was an attacking threat for the entire 90 minutes and was rewarded for her effort with the winning goal鈥攈er first as a Panther,鈥� said head coach Lewis Page.
Evan Couturier, men鈥檚 soccer goalkeeper and fourth-year science student from Coverdale, New Brunswick, was credited with three saves and kept his team in the game until the final moments when Universit茅 de Moncton pulled out the 2-0 win.
鈥淓van made a number of key saves down the stretch as we pushed toward tying the game,鈥� said head coach Lewis Page. 鈥淗e kept us in it until the very end.鈥�
