Congratulations to 2023 69传媒Three Minute Thesis participants
Patients as people first, 3D-printed spinal surgical drill guides, ant-inspired robots, PEI鈥檚 retention of international graduates, and patient-reported experience measures for IBD were the focus of complex thesis research presentations delivered in three minutes or less by 69传媒graduate students to a riveted audience on April 25.
Tayte Willows, MSc, Applied Human Sciences, won first place for her presentation entitled 鈥淗uman First鈥� and will represent 69传媒at the regional The Three Minute Thesis (3MT庐) competition, which will be hosted by Dalhousie University on June 13. In second place was Dr. Meagan Walker, MSc, Department of Companion Animals, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, and in third was Duy Nguyen, MSc, Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering.
The five participants presented an overview of their thesis research to judges, family, friends, fellow graduate students, faculty, and staff. They highlighted their research questions, methods, results, and the potential current and future impacts of their research.
The judges were Dr. Greg Naterer, Vice-President Academic and Research; Dr. Marva Sweeney-Nixon, Associate Vice-President Research and Dean of Graduate Studies; and Dr. Marc Richard, Business Development Officer, Office of Commercialization, Industry, and Innovation. Host Anthony Harris, MSc, Mathematics and Computational Sciences, kept the event moving and the audience engaged and entertained.
