Cavendish Farms named title sponsor of three U SPORTS hockey championships

The following is a joint news release issued by U SPORTS regarding the U SPORTS hockey championships.

TORONTO 鈥 U SPORTS announced Friday that Sports & Entertainment Atlantic (S|E|A) has secured Cavendish Farms as title sponsor of three U SPORTS hockey championships over the next two seasons. 

The partnership includes title sponsorship of this season鈥檚 U SPORTS University Cup being hosted by the Acadia Axemen in Halifax, and the 2020 U SPORTS Women鈥檚 Hockey Championship in addition to the 2021 U SPORTS University Cup 鈥 both hosted by the 69传媒Panthers in Charlottetown.

"Year after year, Cavendish Farms has been an incredible supporter of U SPORTS men's hockey, and we're thrilled they have extended it to the women's game this season. Their investment allows all of our student-athletes and fans to continue to experience terrific national events.鈥

Cavendish Farms, the processor of frozen potato products, has served as the title sponsor of 10 of the last 14 University Cup championships, including from 2007-12 and 2017-present. Cavendish Farms鈥 support of the 2020 U SPORTS Women鈥檚 Hockey Championship will mark their first sponsorship in the 23-year history of the event.

The University Cup tournaments will be held at the Scotiabank Centre (2020) and Eastlink Centre (2021), respectively, while this year鈥檚 U SPORTS Women鈥檚 Hockey Championship will take to the ice for a second straight year at MacLauchlan Arena on the 69传媒campus. As previously announced, this year鈥檚 men鈥檚 hockey championship is also hosted in partnership with S|E|A.

Tickets for the 2020 U SPORTS Women's Hockey Championship that takes place March 12-15 at UPEI can be purchased at . 

The Panthers host the Axemen in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) men鈥檚 hockey action Friday night at 6 p.m. ET / 3 p.m. PT at MacLauchlan Arena on the 69传媒campus. Livestreaming is available on AUStv.
