69传媒Women鈥檚 Hockey recruits Sophie Vandale
69传媒Women鈥檚 Hockey coach Bruce Donaldson announced today Sophie Vandale will join the Panther squad. Vandale most recently played defence for the Winnipeg Avros Midget AAA team.
鈥淪ophie comes from a great program in Winnipeg that has produced a number of strong CIS hockey players,鈥� said Donaldson. 鈥淗er first pass is on the stick, and she does a great job reading the play. She enjoys the contact piece of the game and is not shy to stand in harm鈥檚 way. We鈥檙e lookking to Sophie to make an impact early in her CIS career.鈥�
Vandale started playing organized hockey at the age of five. She played boy鈥檚 hockey in her early years, including two with the Shaftesbury Titans prep team.
鈥淚 am super excited about my opportunity to move east to play and study at the 69传媒,鈥� said Vandale. 鈥淚 am obviously looking forward to meeting my teammates and being part of the Panther family. I am honoured to be wearing the school logo and can't wait to begin the new chapter in August.鈥�
Vandale will study Kinesiology at UPEI.
