Join the Faculty of Education for a free public lecture presented by Dr. Edward Melhuish. Much evidence has accumulated in recent decades that the child鈥檚 experience in the early years has profound consequences for later life. Recent evidence from large-scale studies in the UK indicate how differing patterns of experience in the early years, both in the home and outside the home can have long-term impact on children鈥檚 educational and socio-emotional development. In particular the home learning environment and pre-school experience in the early years continue to have an impact upon children鈥檚 development many years later.
