Like humans, pets can be affected by a variety of cancers. Many types of cancer in animals can be treated, and some can be cured. Dr. Amsellem is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) and an ACVS Founding Fellow in surgical oncology. During the workshop, Dr. Amsellem will discuss the causes of cancer in pets, how to prevent and detect cancer, and new diagnostic and treatment options. He will also present the goals of treatment and quality of life issues of pets with cancer. Everyone is welcome. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served. This workshop is part of the 2013 AVC Community Workshop Series, presented by AVC Friends and Family, the college鈥檚 community-based volunteer organization.
