Campus Notices
The Federation of Canadian Music Festivals will host the 2013 National Competition August 8 - 10 at Sir Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario. It is exciting for Prince Edward Island to be sending three solo competitors to this prestigious national festival. All three are students of the Department of Music at UPEI.
Echo Lau, piano, a student of Dr. Frances Gray, graduated this spring with her bachelor of music.
Branden Kelly is entering his fourth year as a percussion major and studies with David Shephard.
Lucas MacPhail, a student of Kevin MacLean, is entering his third year as a saxophone performer.
They will be competing with other talented musicians chosen from provincial competitions in each province.
All three of these wonderful young musicians can be heard in recital on Sunday, July 28, 7:30 in the evening at the Dr. Steel Recital Hall, 69传媒campus. Echo will be accompanied both here and in Waterloo by Frances Gray. Branden and Lucas will be accompanied by Frances McBurnie.
Admission will be by donation, to assist Echo, Branden, and Lucas with expenses as they travel to Waterloo for this competition.

On July 25, Dr. Vasseur will visit 69传媒to conduct the first site review and to meet
with as many of the key stakeholders as possible.
Interested members of the campus community are invited to an open campus meeting with Dr. Vasseur
on Thursday, July 25 from 3:00鈥4:00 pm in the main floor lounge area of
Kelley Memorial Building.
The terms of reference for the assessment are available upon request by

Memorial Hall (rain location The McCain Foundation Learning Commons, AVC).
We will be celebrating with the BEd(K) students as the bulk of them finish
their degree requirements THAT DAY, along with presenting the J Wesley
Parkinson awards to two incoming MEd students, and honouring key instructors
in our faculty.
Light refreshments will be served.

A reminder that 69传媒parking permits will be on sale, exclusively for 69传媒faculty and staff, beginning tomorrow, July 23. You can print your application today by visiting, .
Please have the form completed before coming to the Accounting Office to have it processed. The Accounting Office is located on the lower level of Kelley Memorial Building. Please note that there is a limited number of designated parking spaces available, and they will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have a balance owing to UPEI, without a payroll deduction in place, you will be required to clear your balance before purchasing a parking permit.
Payment can be made by cash/cheque, or credit/debit. Payroll deductions are required for gated B & C for full-time/permanent part-time employees which will begin in September for 26 pay periods. This is an ongoing deduction for permit purchases in gated lots B & C.
Parking permits go on sale for students August 27. At that time, permit sales will be moved to the kiosk, main floor of the W.A. Murphy Student Centre. Hours of operation are 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, until permits are sold out.
