The Healthy Campus Committee is launching a new fitness subsidy for one-on-one personal training. The intention of the program is for a 69传媒staff/faculty member who isn鈥檛 active and/or hasn鈥檛 participated in small group training and/or fitness programming (i.e., fitness subsidies).

We are arranging two 30鈥搈inute information sessions with Derek Smith, 69传媒personal trainer, and Angela Marchbank, 69传媒Fitness and Wellness Coordinator who will provide a tour of the sports centre and the private personal training studio, discuss what personal training is, and answer questions.

For those attending the orientation session, an offer of an Introductory personal training package will be provided. The package includes a 45-minute consultation and assessment, three 45-minute personal training sessions, and one program design at a cost of $50 (+HST). The regular cost is $230 plus applicable taxes.

Those who are currently active and have accessed fitness programming will be placed on a waitlist as we have a limited number of subsidies for this program.

Please contact Angela Marchbank, amarchbank@upei.ca, for more information and/or to register for the information sessions and/or to be placed on the waitlist.

Everyone is welcome.

December 6 is the , which marks the day in 1989 when 14 young women at Polytechnique Montreal (12 of whom were engineering students) were murdered in a violent act of misogyny that shook our country.

A candlelight vigil is being hosted in the FSDE building on Wednesday, December 6, at 10:00 am, at the Academic Staircase, to honour those who lost their lives in this tragedy.  A commemorative display will also be set up near the entrance all day for those who wish to write messages of reflection and hope. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided following the ceremony. All are welcome.

For more than 20 years, the 69传媒Chaplaincy Centre has been hosting an exam stress-buster meal. At a time of year when students may not plan their meals well, we offer two options: beef chili and curry dahl (lentil) with white rice. We are able to do this with the support of many on campus. Staff and faculty offer their time in 30-minute time slots to help set up, serve, and clean up. As food insecurity for our students continues to be in our minds and hearts, this is one way that 69传媒responds. This semester, chili and dahl meals will be offered on December 12 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm and 4:30 to 6:00 pm. There is an extra time slot on Monday, December 11, to help set up the space.

Please check your calendars and add your name to our
