Trombone, She Wrote: Music by Canadian Women Composers
Experience the expressive side of the trombone from a Canadian perspective, with works by Jocelyn Morlock, F. Jane Naylor, Cait Nishimura, Hope Salmonson, Barbara York, and the premiere of a work for trombone and loop station by Monica Pearce.
This musical celebration of International Women's Day features Department of Music faculty members Dale Sorensen (trombone and euphonium) with Magdalena von Eccher (piano).
Accessible parking is available, and the recital hall has an accessible entrance via elevator.
The Faculty of Business will host an Open House for the Master of Business Administration in Global Leadership (MBA-GL) program on Tuesday, March 19, from 4:30鈥�6:00 pm in Schurman Market Square, Don and Marion McDougall Hall.
This session will offer attendees the opportunity to learn more about the program and application process, have any questions answered, and meet with students, alumni, professors, and staff from the Faculty of Business.
Attendees will be able to apply on-site (please bring a laptop or mobile device) and have their 69传媒application fee waived ($50 CAD value).

The Faculty of Science Graduate Studies Committee invites the campus community to the next presentation of the 2023-24 Environmental Sciences and Human Biology seminar series on Friday, March 8, at 12:30 p.m. in Duffy Science Centre, Room 204.
Louis de Gonzague Sebareze, MSc candidate, Environmental Sciences (Lacroix / Fofana Labs- Department of Biology/AAFC), will present 鈥淕eneration and characterization of gene-edited potato for tolerance to light-induced greening,鈥� and Vincenso Marin, MSc candidate, Environmental Sciences (van den Heuvel Lab, Department of Biology), will present 鈥淪tream flow and its effects on total suspended solids within the Dunk River Watershed.鈥�

Dr. Jacqueline Scott will be on campus this week interviewing for the open tenure-track faculty position in small animal surgery in the Department of Companion Animals at the Atlantic Veterinary College. Dr. Scott received her BVSc in 2009 from Massey University, New Zealand, completed a residency program in small animal surgery at the Ontario Veterinary College in 2019, and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons鈥揝mall Animal in 2020. She is currently working at VCA Canada 404 Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital in Newmarket, Ontario.
As part of the interview process, Dr. Scott will give one seminar divided into two sections on Friday, March 8, at 12:30 pm, in AVC Lecture Theatre B:
- a surgery topic to be presented at the level of a third-year veterinary student: "The Endocrine System: Adrenal Gland"
- a presentation of her research interests: "Evaluation of perceived workload in performing a total laparoscopic gastropexy in a dog following the use of a box trainer system"

This symposium aims to share experiences, challenges, and opportunities of advancing equity, diversity, inclusion, and Indigenization (EDIID) within the University community. It will offer a unique platform for the University community to engage in dialogue and share experiences of integrating EDIID into course delivery and campus life. It aims to highlight current initiatives, gather new ideas, and build collaborative strategies for a more inclusive university.
Submissions to help shape the symposium as well as expressions of interest to present are welcome.
The deadline for submissions is March 8, 2024.

Peter is a five-and-a-half-year-old male neutered retired teaching beagle who is looking for a new home. He is a sweet and loving dog who loves to spend time with his people. He's the best dog to cuddle with and loves greeting you when you get home. If you want to feel loved, Peter is the dog for you.
He is looking for a new home because he is anxious of and doesn't get along with our other dog, so ideally, he would be the only dog in his new house. He does live with four cats, and he loves all of them and respects their boundaries. He doesn't have experience with kids but is very people friendly.
He has been diagnosed with social anxiety, so he has trouble reading the social cues of and communicating with other dogs. Partially due to this, he is also leash reactive to other dogs. He is currently on several medications for anxiety, and other than his issues with our other dog, he seems to be doing well in regard to his anxiety. He has had some trouble with house training but has been doing great lately, with only a few accidents in the last month. Peter also has mild hip dysplasia but currently does not need medication for it.
Peter really is a wonderful dog, and it was an extremely hard decision to begin the process to rehome him. I want him to have the best life, and I truly believe he is the perfect dog for someone, but he just needs to be without the stress of living with a dog that he doesn't like in order to live up to his full potential.

On March 14 at 3 pm, the campus community is invited to MacLauchlan Arena (Rink A) at the Bell Aliant Centre to watch the 69传媒Women's Hockey team take on a team of 69传媒faculty and staff. Come cheer on your fellow student-athletes and/or colleagues in what is sure to be an entertaining game. Admission is free. However, "admission by donation" is encouraged to support the Panther Women's Hockey program. This new event will hopefully become a yearly tradition to see who will have bragging rights between faculty/staff and students. We look forward to seeing you there!
You are invited to attend an online presentation by Dr. Brent MacDonald, candidate for a 10-month term position as an assistant professor in psychology at UPEI. The title of his presentation is "Saving the best for last: Developing high-quality assessment feedback practices."
