This year, the 69传媒 launched the first-ever 69传媒Panther Pitch competition as part of the Harry W. MacLauchlan Entrepreneurship Program. In January, twenty-five student teams were chosen to compete for support to develop their ventures. Since the competition launch, these teams have been receiving coaching from experienced mentors and refining their business plan to potentially win a portion of $45,000 in prize money to support their startup ventures.

Six of these teams will be selected to compete in a live semi-final Q & A session from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on March 24, 2021. Each team will present a five-minute pitch and face questions from a judging panel, as well as questions submitted from the online audience.

To mark this important occasion, Wade MacLauchlan, former premier of Prince Edward Island and 69传媒president emeritus, will give opening remarks on behalf of the MacLauchlan family.

To attend the semi-final event virtually or to share this event with others, please register at:

The Department of Health Management is interviewing 3 candidates for the tenure track faculty position in Large Animal Internal Medicine.  As part of the interview process, each candidate has been asked to present two brief seminars鈥攐ne suitable for DVM students and, the other, a presentation of their research interests.

Dr. Jane Woodrow was born and raised in Florida. She was involved in Pony Club and USEA growing up. She attended veterinary school at University of Florida, followed by a large animal internship at UGA and large animal internal medicine residency at University of Tennessee. During her residency, her interest in research grew. She was lucky to be able to join a lab at UT at the end of her residency. The lab she joined is focused on mast cell functions, with an emphasis on the anti-inflammatory roles of the mast cell in colitis and airway disease. While the majority of her PhD dissertation was focused on in vitro studies, Dr. Woodrow was able to obtain 2 small grants from MAF and BI to support her clinical interest in equine asthma. Equine asthma research is an area she would like to pursue, focusing on the immune cell functions and relation to fibrosis and lung function.
