Purchasing Cut-Offs

  • Requisition/purchase order:

The last day to create a requisition/purchase order for the 2022-23 fiscal year will be on Thursday, April 13, 2023, at noon with guaranteed delivery date on or before April 30, 2023.

Requisitions/purchase orders created after April 13, 2023, must have a requisition date changed to May 1, 2023, and the goods and services must be delivered on or after May 1, 2023.

Receiving Goods/Services Cut-Off: April 30, 2023

Goods and services must be received on campus by April 30, 2023. Only the goods that have been physically received or completed services should be accepted at this time. This will ensure that these goods and services are paid in the 2022-23 fiscal year.  Any items received in myUPEI after April 30, 2023, will be considered new fiscal year goods and services and will then be deducted from your new fiscal year budget (2023-24).

If the items have been back-ordered for some time, you will need to check with the supplier to see if they are still on their records as back-ordered. If they are not back-ordered, then please email procurement@upei.ca to cancel your purchase order.

If you are in receipt of vendor invoices, forward these to invoices@upei.ca ASAP. Please contact apadmin@upei.ca with questions or concerns regarding billing and invoicing.

Workplace Safety for Supervisors
Supervisors play a critical role in ensuring health and safety in the workplace. Because they direct the work of others, supervisors are well-positioned to impact safety culture at work. This session will introduce participants to the concept of due diligence, and inform them of the legal responsibilities supervisors have for worker safety.

Young Worker Safety: Changing the Culture
Participants will learn what is now known about the significant influence supervisors can have on young worker safety, and how employers and supervisors might capitalize on this. Participants will hear what young PEI workers say about their hesitation to raise their workplace safety concerns, and what they can do to encourage young workers to speak up.

This session is for anyone on campus in a supervisory role.  To register, please contact Jacky Buell at hse@upei.ca or (902) 566-0901 by April 4, 2023.

Workplace harassment can undermine a person's dignity and well-being. When not addressed, it can lead to negative outcomes for the workplace, including absenteeism, stress, and decreased morale. This session will introduce participants to the new Workplace Harassment Regulations and outline the employer and worker responsibilities in establishing a harassment-free workplace.

To register, please email Jacky Buell at hse@upei.ca or (902) 566-0901 by Friday, March 31, 2023.

The Women in Science speaking tour with Dr. Tasneem Darwish, scheduled for March 31, has been postponed.

On March 24, 1882, the bacterium causing tuberculosis (TB) was discovered by Robert Koch. He announced his discovery that TB was caused by a bacteria in his presentation, 鈥淒ie Aetiologie der Tuberculose,鈥 at the Berlin Physiological Society conference. The discovery of the bacteria proved that TB was an infectious disease, not hereditary.

Tuberculosis is a preventable and curable disease, but every day approximately 4,400 worldwide die from it. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates nearly 70,000,000 lives have been saved since 2000; however, with the global pandemic and conflicts currently going on in the world, we are beginning to fall behind in our progress to end TB.

The WHO is advocating for the following actions to end TB:

1)  The UN General Assembly take a leadership role and advocate for TB

2)  Domestic and international investments to fund critical programming to ensure access to prevention, care, and research

3) Governments/leaders to accelerate the rollout of new tools/guidance on prevention and treatment of TB

4) Putting the spotlight on tackling health inequalities; people with TB are among some of our most marginalized persons in society

5) Concerted action by all sectors:  providing the right services, in the right environment at the right time

EV Charging Station Procedure

  • Download the FLO鈥揈V Charging (EVC) Network App
  • Locate charging station on app map
  • Select station
  • Plug and charge

Using the EV Charging Parking Space

There is a four-hour limit for parking in an EVC space. After four hours, the charging rate will increase to $5/hr ($7/hr in visitor parking lot). This is to encourage turnover after four hours to allow others to use the car charger.

The spaces are not to be used by a vehicle that does not need electric charging, nor should they be occupied by a car that possesses a full charge.

The chart below illustrates charging options available depending on the lot location and whether the user is a permit holder or a visitor. The units installed around campus are different from one another and carry different charging capabilities.

Visitor parking lots (Wanda Wyatt Dining Hall and W.A. Murphy Student Centre) 鈥 $4/hour ($2/hour charging fee + $2/hour parking fee).

These spaces are not to be used as a location for loading/unloading or as a place for visitors to wait for passenger pick-up/drop-off. There will be a parking fee for use of the space.  After four hours, the rate increases to $7/hour.

Staff/student permit holder parking lots - $2/hour charging fee. The appropriate valid 69传媒parking permit must be displayed. After four hours of charging, the rate increases to $5/hour.

Enforcement

  1. Charging station - charging indication light

The EVC stations have a light that indicates when a car is charging. This light is blue when a car is charging and green when a charger is available.  It is a parking violation if a car is parked in an EVC space and not charging the vehicle (the light on the charger is not blue). This violation is subject to a parking ticket and/or towing.
