The 69传媒Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) department has moved to AVC 4th floor South (428S). When you come in the main entrance of AVC, head right toward ITSS and turn left to take the South stairs or elevator to the fourth floor. If you require elevator access, please give us a call at (902) 566-0901 or (902) 213-3183. This is a temporary measure. All contact information for HSE remains the same so you may continue to email hse@upei.ca or call the staff (check out the 69传媒HSE website for individual contacts). You can also come see our new location.

The Physics Department invites everyone to view the sun through our telescopes today (weather permitting). Between 12:00-1:30 pm, drop by the grassy area between Memorial Hall and Robertson Library where we will have our hydrogen-alpha telescope set up to let you view the sun's atmosphere. From there, we will direct you to the Earl L. Wonnacott Observatory on the top of Memorial Hall, where you can view sunspots on the sun's surface through a white-light filter on our large observatory telescope.

Our ground-based telescope is accessible for people with all mobility levels. It is necessary to be able to climb stairs to reach our observatory telescope.

If the sky is too cloudy, the viewing will have to be cancelled. Check our website for the most up-to-date event status:

This is the final event in our series of summer solar viewings. As the evenings get darker earlier in the fall, we will return to nighttime viewings; stay tuned for details.
