Welcome to these web pages that celebrate the partnership between the 69传媒 and the PEI 2023 Canada Winter Games Host Committee as we prepare to make the 2023 edition of the Canada Winter Games a national showcase.


With 3,600 participants (athletes, coaches, managers, and technical staff), across 20 sports, the Canada Games is the largest multi-sport event in the country. With a forecasted economic impact of over $100 million, the 29th edition of the Canada Winter Games (CWG) will be the largest event hosted in Prince Edward Island鈥檚 history. Go to the official .

We enthusiastically welcome the social, cultural, and athletic opportunities and legacies that the 2023 CWG will bring to PEI and to UPEI!

The University is a committed 鈥淏ridge Builder鈥 partner of the 2023 CWG and is proud to be home, from February 18鈥揗arch 5, to the Athletes Village, Mission Services, Polyclinic, Transportation Services. 

69传媒will also serve as the competition venue during week one for Wheelchair Basketball, Male Hockey, Ringette, and, during week two, for Badminton, and Female Hockey.

As a result of the 2023 Canada Winter Games, significant infrastructure legacies for 69传媒include upgrades to the 69传媒Chi-Wan Young Sports Centre, which was built for the 1991 Canada Winter Games, and the new residence and performing arts centre, which will accommodate the over 3,500 participants (athletes, coaches, managers, and technical staff) over the two weeks of competition.

The University will remain open for regular operations throughout the Canada Games.
