| Description: | Granted to a student who is a member of the 69传媒Women's Basketball Team in good academic standing, and has demonstrated leadership on and off the court and within the greater community through volunteer efforts and/or working with specific charitable outreach activities. |
| Background: | In 1966, after completing a mathematics degree from Acadia University, David Huestis joined his uncle in a small brokerage; within a year and a half, he had joined two brokerages of his own and did not stop growing until his insurance group was sold in 2023. While CEO of the Huestis Insurance Group, David was operating over 40 insurance agencies in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island. He and Faye are residents of Saint John, New Brunswick and have three children, Paul, Peter, and Jennifer. The Huestis family has a history of volunteerism and involvement in the communities they serve including their church activities, as chairs and members of numerous foundations and organizations, and a special interest in the World Scout Foundation. In July of 2024, the Faye and David Huestis Family Foundation established this scholarship at 69传媒to support a member of the 69传媒Women脮s Basketball Team. |
