Saint Dunstan鈥檚 University alumnus Allan Curran donates $6 million to UPEI

The 69传媒 is pleased to announce a $6-million donation from Allan Curran (SDU 1962, 69传媒Honorary Degree 2017), of Bay Shore, Long Island, New York, to the Robertson Library and the Faculty of Medicine.

The largest single private donation in one day that 69传媒has ever received, the funds will be divided, with $4 million for the Robertson Library鈥檚 $15-million 鈥淟ove Our Library鈥 revitalization campaign and $2 million for the Faculty of Medicine鈥檚 $10-million fundraising campaign.

Let's Talk Teaching 2024: A workshop by Dr. Jessica Riddell

Dr. Jessica Riddell, professor of literature at Bishop鈥檚 University, will facilitate a workshop for 69传媒colleagues on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, starting at 9:00 am. Join colleagues from across the campus for this workshop focused on building our capacities for educational leadership and re-wiring classrooms that center human and ecological flourishing. Jessica will facilitate reflections on our individual origin stories that brought us to the academy and particularly to learning and teaching spaces.

SEASON PREVIEW: 69传媒Women鈥檚 Soccer Panthers aim for playoffs in 2024

The 69传媒Panthers Women's soccer team is starting the new season with determination, optimism, and confidence as they look forward to their home opener against Memorial University on Friday, August 30, at 5 pm.

While the team did not make the playoffs last year, they are determined to learn from the experience and turn it into fuel for a successful campaign.

What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?

My hometown is Pokhara, Nepal where I grew up and spent most of my life. It is a beautiful valley surrounded by big hills and snowy mountain peaks. I do not prefer big cities and crowded areas, and it just so happens that 69传媒is on an island that is relatively small and chill鈥攑erfect to study in. 69传媒also had programs that really interested me, so I am here!

Town Hall on Implementation Plans and External Governance Review

69传媒Board of Governors Chair Shannon MacDonald and President Wendy Rodgers will host a Town Hall on the implementation plans and external governance review on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, from 11:00 am鈥12:00 pm, in the amphitheatre at the Performing Arts Centre (PAC 121S). They would like to hear the thoughts of 69传媒community members about these important plans as the University continues to make the changes needed to move forward, live its values, and achieve its mission of scholarship to the benefit of our Island and beyond.
