Midfielder Emile Abele joins 69传媒Men鈥檚 Soccer Panthers
The 69传媒Men鈥檚 Soccer Panthers have secured a commitment from midfielder Emile Abele for the 2023鈥�24 season.
Last season, Abele suited up for the University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) Timberwolves, and while he learned a lot from the likes of 2022 Canada West Player of the Year Michael Henman and U SPORTS Coach of the Year Steve Simonson, it wasn鈥檛 quite the experience he envisioned for himself.
Dr. Karem Simon launches Solitary Clarinet album on August 26
Dr. Karem J. Simon, professor emeritus at UPEI, will officially launch his album, Solitary Clarinet, on Saturday, August 26, 2023, starting at 10:30 am in UPEI鈥檚 new Performing Arts Centre (PAC) Theatre.
Dr. Simon will perform several pieces from the project and will speak about the album鈥檚 concept and the journey in bringing it to fruition. Admission is free to this family-friendly event, which will be 75鈥�90 minutes in duration.

What brought you to UPEI? Why did you choose to study here?
I'm from Fort St. James, a small northern community in British Columbia and I chose UPEI鈥檚 Bachelor of Education (BEd) program because the application process considered my previous experience in instructional settings, experience with children and youth, academic achievements, and other extended training.

69传媒Panthers land former York Lion defender David D鈥橝gostino for 2023鈥�24 season
The 69传媒Men鈥檚 Hockey Panthers have secured a commitment from veteran defender David D鈥橝gostino for the 2023鈥�24 season.
D鈥橝gostino spent the past four years with the York Lions and gives the Panthers another experienced option on the back end. The 25-year-old from Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, recorded six goals and 16 assists in 66 games with the club.
Standing at five-foot-ten, D鈥橝gostino isn鈥檛 the biggest defender in the league, but he makes up for it with his skating ability and offensive upside.

NSO students to conduct food drive for 69传媒Campus Food Bank
On Thursday, September 7, 69传媒students will go door to door in the Sherwood neighbourhood from 5:00鈥�7:00 pm to collect non-perishable food for the 69传媒Campus Food Bank.
The food drive is part of UPEI鈥檚 annual New Student Orientation (NSO) Week to welcome new and returning students to the campus.
Wearing their NSO t-shirts, the students will walk from Dalton Hall on the campus to Sherwood to collect food items on September 7. The 69传媒Panther-Mobile van will escort students and help to deliver the food they gather back to the campus.
