Island Studies and VP Academic and Research host Public Symposium: Sustainable Agriculture and the Island鈥檚 Food System

The Island鈥檚 鈥渇ood system鈥� will be the topic of a Public Symposium to be held at UPEI鈥檚 Duffy Science Centre Amphitheatre, Room 135, on Monday, November 14, beginning at 7:00 p.m. In particular, the discussion will focus on a move toward a more sustainable agriculture, with a stronger emphasis on local food and food security. Guest speaker is Dr. Mark Lapping from University of Southern Maine, with panelists Barry Cudmore, a Nuffeld Scholar and farmer from Brackley Beach; Mark Bernard from Barnyard Organics; and Dr. Colleen Walton from UPEI鈥檚 Department of Applied Human Science.
